Thomas Jefferson Jefferson had plentiful ideas of how to run the country and several people supported his believes. However, He realized that not all of his ideas would be able to be integrated into the government plans as easy as he thought and furthermore that some of his objectives were not as great as he expected. Even though, some of Jefferson's idea were not materialized, he was efficient when it comes to external affairs. Jefferson was termed as "The man of the people" with his attitude of government being let more power into the hands of the community and inhibiting the power of state. Thomas Jefferson condemned the King of Great Britain George the III because he was very brutal against the slaves. As stated in the original words of the constitution, Jefferson stated "He is now exciting those very people to rise arms among us, and to purchase that liberty of which he has deprived them, by murdering the people on whom he also obtruded them." (qtd. In Thomas Jefferson). Thomas Jefferson and most American colonists were very unhappy of the way King George III was dealing with the slaves by trading , abusing, and finally slaying them. Thomas Jefferson cited it in the constitution, but the congressman at that time did not like it because most congressmen had slaves, and they knew they will make fewer many and pay higher taxes if the slaves become free. So they determined to change the section which explains about the slavery for the sake of not losing their benefit from the service of slaves. It was the most crucial change in the constitution because most politicians were thinking about how to be rich and powerful. Unfortunately, This small change in the constitution drive the country to experience deterioration from slavery for long time, furthermore led the country to a civil war between states which resulted many people to be killed.
