Thomas Jefferson was a very popular man who contributed a lot for America in order to make it a sovereign nation. He was born on April 13, 1743 in western Virginia. He enrolled at the College of William and Mary where he studied science, math, rhetoric, philosophy, and literature. He studied law under the renown lawyer George Wythe and became on of the best in the area. Jefferson was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses from 1769 to 1774.
Upon Jefferson’s sixteenth birthday, he enrolled into the College of William and Mary Williamsburg, where he studied mathematics, philosophy, metaphysics and most importantly law. Jefferson studied law from 1768 to 1773, and following his studies, was admitted to the bar of the General Court of Virginia. As a lawyer, Jefferson was closely involved with a number of freedom suites, which consisted of slaves seeking their freedom, and often took cases without charging his clients a penny. Thomas Jefferson was born at Shadwell his father died in 1757 three years later Thomas went to the college of William and mary two years later Jefferson began to study law with George wythe.
Jefferson started his career in the College of William and Mary studying law. The first jobs he got into the career were magistrate, county lieutenant, and also he was in the House of Burgesses. Then Jefferson was in the Continental Congress. Thomas helped others create the Declaration of Independence. In 1786, Jefferson left Congress and was voted into the State Legislature.

Thomas Jefferson took the presidential vow of office in March 1801, in which he promised to give back and reward the "uncorrupted republicanism" that encouraged the Revolutionary period. He called his victory the "Upset of 1800," accepting that his win meant that political and social change could happen in the new country without falling back on cruelty or violence. The decision demonstrated that power could calmly interchange starting with one assembly, the Federalists, then the next, the Democratic-Republicans. The swapping of political gatherings represented a defining moment in American legislative issues.
Thomas Jefferson was an American statesmen and one of our founding fathers. He was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadwell, Virginia. He had been the President for eight years from 1801 to 1809 and was our third U.S. President. Thomas Jefferson was a President that was well known for what he did over time and was truly a remarkable man with a vision for America. It takes a lot to become an ideal nation, but during the pregnancy of America, great men in history had the same idea of what it takes to become an ideal nation. Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry both agree that liberty is what makes a nation an ideal nation. However, people like Thomas Paine believes that other ideas are more important in creating an ideal nation, Thomas Jefferson believes that to become an ideal nation, there must be liberty. When Jefferson was drafting the Declaration Of Independence, he states, “...that among these are life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness..,”. Jefferson emphasizes the importance of liberty by putting it in the first lines of one of the most important documents in American history.
Thomas Jefferson’s legacy shaped the foundation of America today, his ideas on the limiting federal government, the separation of church and state, and the utmost importance of an individual 's personal rights. Limiting help to control potential abuses by the people in power over the citizens who elected them. His influence on limiting the federal government has prevented many crisis’ that have affected other democracies. Furthermore, his beliefs of separation of church and state helped to advance society by keeping the United States of America from becoming a theocracy. Arguably Thomas Jefferson’s biggest accomplishment comes from his incredibly strong and influential effort to further advance the personal rights of each and every citizen.
