The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fits into America’s public health infrastructure as a federal governmental agency. “The mission of the EPA is to protect human health and the environment” and they fulfill that mission through composing and enforcing regulations supporting environmental laws passed by Congress. In addition, the EPA works with many other sectors to riposte Winslow’s definition of public health in all three core functions. The EPA is such an enormous agency that it contributes too many areas of public health, but one key aspect is its role in primary prevention. As a part of the function of ‘Assessment’ the EPA contracts outside of their agency to research and analyze the data and come up with best possible solutions
