Music of our day reflects the culture of our day; it is an expressive language of culture. It often tells a story, expresses emotion, or shares ideas with a society and the views and ideals of a country. Music is often the expression of idea, opinion, or emotion; therefore, the culture's ideas or views are almost always represented in the lyrics or style of their music. Music is very malleable and is affected by a countless number of factors; however, these factors put together equal the culture. I interviewed my mother was a musician and became influence in the American culture since she started to hear R&B coming to the states from Japan and started to learn English as well.
