In the movie Corpse Bride by Tim Burton, he manifests low-spirited instrumental music towards Victor after messing up his wedding vows. We hear this despairing music when Victor is walking through the forest foreplaying over and over his wedding vows without making any mistakes: (In frustration) with this hand will… I will...set your mother on fire.. Sad piano music plays as he drops to the floor with despair (Burton). Here we see how the instrumental music starts to turn into sad music because of how Victor is sad and seemed to be in a mode of failure and disappointment towards himself. This exhibits the music's ton of despair and comparing it to how Victor feels about the situation he’s in. This tells us Victor had given up for a brief moment. We can see this when Victor is in the forest foreplaying his vows and with excitement and courage, he sticks the ring he’s supposed to give to Victoria on a “stick” then suddenly.. Here we Burton uses a closen up angle to exhibit the terror he was probably feeling through his facial expression. This shows what kind of emotions were running through the characters body and appearing on his face.
