What ethical system inform their resolution? If the ethical system didn't exist the death of Tom wouldn't have happened. Then Tom's hand wouldn't be handicapped /wouldn't have happened. Finally a innocent man without proof wouldn't have been committed of rape or convicted.

The author Harper Lee is challenging the race relations in How To Kill A Mockingbird because in the book Harper Lee is describing the social status such as how Tom worked in the cotton field when he was 13.Political Tom was convicted with murder even with medical proof ,he was convicted with murder even though there was proof.
