What can be said about famous author and philanthropist Harper Lee that hasn’t already been written somewhere? There is undoubtedly a gracious amount for Harper Lee was not a flat character as some literary works have, but a well-rounded individual, who showed caring and insight into the human soul as no other writer of her time period had previously put down on paper.

Harper Lee wrote only two manuscripts that were published, one of them was “To Kill a Mockingbird”. In “To Kill a Mockingbird” her characters weren’t soulless or flat like most book, they had feeling, thoughts that touched people dearly into having their own feelings for the characters. “To Kill a Mockingbird” was the best book she ever wrote! A much later discovered manuscript entitled “Go Set a Watchman” is supposed to be the sequel to “To Kill a Mockingbird”, however, everything in that book is nothing like “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Although the characters are the same, and it is set 20 years after “Mockingbird”, the characters seem to have lost their sweet appeal to the reader. It was kind of disappointing that it was the sequel and that Atticus, who was most admired for his stand on equally, has changed his opinion.
