To Kill A Mockingbird To Kill A Mockingbird takes place in the south in Alabama. It’s about a young girl, Scout and her brother, Jem. They are both very curious about the things that go on around their town and extremely interested in a man named Boo Radley. Their father, Atticus, is a lawyer and is working on a case involving a black man, Tom Robinson, raping a white woman. The family gets a lot of criticism from the town and from people at the children’s school for the father defending this man. Scout is always getting into fights at school for this same reason, but her father tells her to not fight and not to listen to what the people around her are saying. By the end of the movie Tom is sadly found guilty and is killed. Scout finally gets to meet Boo Radley when she and her brother, Jem, are attacked on the way home from a school pageant and Boo comes to help her. Boo killed the man and Atticus thanks him for protecting his children. …show more content…

The whole town is against this case and does not like Tom Robinson. They automatically believe that he did rape the white woman, and no one really wants to hear his side. This also has a theme of morals because Atticus’ family understands what’s right and what’s wrong based on how their father has taught them, especially Scout. He shows them how to take the high road and to be respectful. They don’t really understand why the others are the way they are towards people of color, but that’s because they were taught to not discriminate and care about everyone
