During the holocaust, chancellor Adolf Hitler and his many followers, the Nazis, killed over six million Jews. Hitler brainwashed many Germans into thinking that the holocaust would be the scapegoat for all of their problems. After Hitler wrote his book, Mein Kampf, which means “My Struggle” the German citizens began to be brainwashed into thinking that eliminating the Jews would be their best option for long term happiness. Hitler wasn’t the first to bring anti-semitism to the table. Hitler was very good at making people believe what he was saying was the best for everyone, take the Nazi’s for example. He brainwashed them into thinking that killing the Jews was okay. Racism is so deeply pressured on someone that it changes their whole mindset. Stanley milgram conducted a study to see who is really responsible for the actions of the holocaust. In this experiment there were two people, a learner or a teacher. The learner would sit in a electric chair while the teacher would hold a control panel with buttons on it. The teacher thought when he pushed the buttons on the panel it would shock the student. The student received shock but not enough to physically damage. The people who participated in this experiment, were aware that they were killing someone. His finding included that normal people who were influenced by a person of authority obey the command they were given.
