With Carrie falling head over heals for Robert Borden, Rose ( aka her best friend and a slave) and another slave Moses, and Roses mama and papa. Carrie's story begin with a tournament, where Robert was riding Granite. She gave him a lock of hair as a token. It was love at first sight, but there was one thing holding them apart, slavery. He believed with all his heart that slavery was right, and she did not.
In both of theses stories there is some precious stuff going on. In to kill a mockingbird Tom Robinson was accused of rape that he did not do, but because he was black he had got accused of it. In the report of Emmett Till Till was killed because he had want to the south to visit his family but he was killed because he was black. Emmett Till was innocent but because he had no wetness no one would have ever believed him in his point of view.

The novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is about two kids, Jem and Scout, and their childhood in their small town Maycomb, Alabama. In the beginning of the novel, Jem and Scout were two innocent kids playing in the summer sun, until school came along. Jem was about twelve throughout the novel and Scout was eight, and considering that Jem was twelve in the novel, he was changing. During the middle of the novel a rape trial occurred, which included a black man being accused by a white woman of first-degree rape. Atticus, the kid’s father was defending the african american man; Tom Robinson.
Despite racial inequalities in the South, Atticus sticks to his own morals and agrees to be the defending lawyer for Tom Robinson, a black man being accused of raping a white woman. Although Atticus’ defense in court was thorough and clearly proved Tom’s innocence, the jury was prejudiced towards black folks and convicted Tom as guilty. Nonetheless, Atticus is still a hero despite losing the case. He has the courage to stand up for what he believes in, fights with reason rather than guns, and has utmost determination, making him a hero despite being just an average human being. Ultimately, his thoughts and actions set the stage for major changes in the meaning of equality throughout Maycomb County, changing lives of numerous people.
