Tom Robinson Monologue

582 Words3 Pages
Jem starts crying when he hears that the Jury found Tom Robinson guilty. We were both so shocked as we realize that people could be so mean spirited. Jem tells me that he's beginning to understand why Boo Radley never comes out of his house; it's not because he can't, it's because he doesn't want to come out. Jem tells me that he heard from grapevine that Mr. Ewell was threatening Helen Robinson and her child, saying that there was one down and two to go. Jem thinks he's all talk and tells me not to worry. He warns me to not say anything to Atticus. When school starts again, I'm in third grade
