Within the pages of The Book Thief, there lives a jewish boy. A bloody knuckled, hard faced, fist fighting, jewish boy named Max Vandenburg. Because of the wrath of Adolf Hitler, Max had to go into hiding with his friend, Walter Kulgur. Unfortunately, Max had to find a new place to hide, due to increased danger in his current whereabouts. No doubt, Max experienced a wide and vast range of emotions, one of which is guilt.
Would you be brazen enough to throw a brick at your Mom's boyfriend's windshield because that’s what the character in my book did. The main character in my book is a boy named Foster. The name of my book is Fourmile. The author of Fourmile is Watt Key. Foster inspired me because he never gave up, looked on the bright side of things and he was not scared of anything.
On August 28th, 1963 on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King held one of the most powerful and influential speeches in human history. The speech was held in front of more than 200 000 people and concerned the injustices of discrimination of African Americans which was taking place in the United States at the time. In his first statement he says: “I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.” With this introduction Mr. King firmly states what the essence of his speech will be.
In All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Remarque, soldiers show that they see the earth as a motherly figure through the use of apostrophe and personification in a compassionate tone to support them through the trauma of war. Remarque shows apostrophe in Paul's quote, "Earth!--Earth!--Earth!. " Paul is shown to be calling out compassionately to the earth as if it was his own mother. The use of apostrophe shows that the earth is being addressed although it is an inanimate object. This shows that Paul is compassionate about the earth and sees it as a living person and in his case, he sees the earth as a mother like figure.
An individual’s life, identity, and their relationship with other people can be impacted by the suffering and loss that war and its aftermath bring. Australian composers address these issues in their novel to convey the Australian identity. Australia composer Sue Lawson explores and creates images of the Australian identity through their actions, words and personality. Showing the effects of war not just of immediate generation but those who follow war. In exploring clear features and techniques of the Novel FINDING DARCY we find that the protagonist and antagonist eventually connect and interact with each other.
The novel The Book Thief by Markus Zusak has othering present by demonstrating how one of the main characters, Max, is Jewish during Nazi Germany and has dealt with othering and prejudice throughout the story. The author states "'Will you climb in here so that we can defeat this enemy(jews) together (Germany)? (254)''' The example demonstrates how Germany used "othering" against the Jewish community, and how it affected them. Furthermore, they had the mindset of "it's either them, or us," and Germany decided it would not be them to go down.
Should Coin Be Killed In the novel Mockingjay , by Suzanne Collins, we are introduced to a powerful leader President Alma Coin. Coin is the leader of District 13 and is rebelling against the Capitol. She is trying to stop the Hunger Games and take over the Capitol. Coin is an antagonist in this story. President Coin should die because of her ruthless, controlling actions towards her own people.
Never giving up is one of the most important things a person must do in their life, and the book Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick contains this as it’s theme. This book follows the life of 2 young boys that have very troubling events over the course of the book, but despite all these events they stay strong, and never give up. We could all learn from these fictional yet very real characters and improve our lives by following their example. If you do this, then limits on you will be re sharpen and you too can accomplish amazing things just like these characters.
Bless me Ultima summary In the book Bless Me Ultima, Tony had a lot experience and witness a lot to be so young. Starting from the beginning to the end I will tell you all the important parts that made an impact on Tony. First part is when Lupito was killed near the river. It all started on a Saturday night, Tony’s mother was laying out clean clothes for Sunday mass.
It was said that no bullet, no sword and no fire could ever hurt the man. A group of people named Reckners are the only ones that fight back against the Epics. David wants to join them and he has seen SteelHeart bleed. Through the experiences of a young man named David, Steel Heart accurately describes the life of David when he was young and lost his father to the 18 year old wanting to join the Reckoners and kill Epics and take down SteelHeart.

However, the conflict of human vs. human was also difficult due to the fact that the thief had a gun. What drove the miner was passion to defend his gold that he earned by overcoming the challenges that nature presented to him. What is really surprising is that after he was shot twice and he left the canyon happy and joyful. This shows that over his own pain, the joy of finding gold took his mind to his happy place. In the novel Long Way Down the main character Will's brother is shot and killed. Will goes to seek revenge for him, he thinks A guy named Riggs killed Shawn. As he’s on the elevator to leave his apartment he sees many of his dead relatives.
One example on why Montag is an anti- hero is because he soon starts to realize that it’s time to change his society, but when his anger comes in play he realizes that he the best changes he made aren’t the best changes(page 71 ) “ They read the long afternoon through while the cold November rain fell from the sky upon the quiet house” The quote provides proof that Montag is starting to want to change his society because he is doing something that is illegal he is reading. In the beginning Montag was against reading books he was a member of the fire company that burned them. now he reading a book with millie and he is now starting to enjoy the books. Page 81) ‘Someone who may have been a friend was burned less than Twenty-four hours ago” This is making him change the society because he doesn’t think people should be burned for reading book.
