She’s more of the brains behind the plan to kill King Duncan rather than the actual murderer. In Act 1: Scene 5, she receives the letter from Macbeth and she says “Yet I do fear thy nature; It is too full o’ th’ milk of human kindness”, she knows that he will end up not wanting to go through with their plan. Although he could have said no she still pushed him to proceed. Maybe if Macbeth would’ve put his foot down instead of cowering down and doing whatever Lady Macbeth said, he wouldn’t be in the predicament of having to kill his friends that he is in now. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are much like Adam and Eve.
Lady Macbeth is a multifaceted character because she displays evil tendencies while still maintain many of her other qualities such as ambition and goodwill. Even when her character seems evil the the good aspects of her character are still apparent Shakespeare shows his intent of the charter lady Macbeth to be a multifaceted character when she could nit go through with the murder of King Duncan but instead asks her husband Macbeth to do it. This shows that Lady Macbeth that Macbeth was not added into the play to serve as a solely evil character but instead a multifaceted character. After reading the letter, she resolves that Duncan, the Scottish king, must be murdered. This is the first example of the unreasonable state of mind the character seems to be trapped in. She seems to have an unearthly haste about her, attempting to persuade Macbeth to murder Duncan at first chance. She is aware that Macbeth is too kind and compassionate to kill the king, and is afraid that he will miss this opportunity to take the throne as she says he is "too full o' th' milk of human kindness".
Upon learning of the witches’ prophecies, the woman devised a plan which included Macbeth murdering Duncan to take his title (I, iv, 38-40). This scene demonstrates Lady Macbeth’s obvious malicious intent and her malevolent personality. After noticing her husband’s reluctance at executing her plan, she influences him so that Macbeth will conclusively murder Duncan. “ …Which thou esteem’st the ornament of life, and live a coward in thine own esteem” (I, vii, 42-3). She continually criticizes him for refusing to kill Duncan, letting him know that what he was doing was considered a cowardly act.
Even though she is a woman she tells Macbeth to forget about his crime. She controls Macbeth and makes him do what she tells him to do. According to Sadowski Lady Macbeth, “as a woman [she is] more manly in character than her husband” (Sadowski 9). Lady Macbeth does all the planning which is suppose to be done by Macbeth. She does not let her husband make the decisions, she herself makes the decisions.
Lady Macbeth is a heartless hellion that will not let anything stand in the way of her husband getting the title of king even at the cost of many lives. I feel like without Lady Macbeth present, Macbeth would have been a happy man. The women is constantly manipulating her husband for what can be both admirable and displaceable. She wanted him to live to his fullest potential as king but she will disregard anyone else if they stand in the way. Lady Macbeth knows that Macbeth wont be able to kill King Duncan because she is in “fear [of] thy nature; It is too full o’ th’ milk oh human kindness” (1, 5, 15-16) meaning that she fears that Macbeth’s nature is too kind he wont kill the king.
There are many points throughout the book where Lady Macbeth proves to be an evil person with an evil agenda. She plays a big part in the story's plot, negatively impacting it. When reviewing the character Macbeth, many components of his personality can be shared. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is admired by all and is looked up to as a hero. He and his wife then put all their faith into what the witches prophesied; this causing their downfall. Shortly afterwards, Macbeth takes for granted his new title and fame. Macbeth's morals were clean of sin, until Lady Macbeth poisoned them with the thought of murder.
Those who are weak often manipulate others to do the things they cannot. Shakespeare's Tragedy of Macbeth describes two characters’ desire for power, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Throughout the play, Lady Macbeth displays many facets to her personality. She is such a diverse and complicated character that it is hard to know if she is truly evil or weak. However, no matter how strong and evil Lady Macbeth appears to be to others, her weakness is clearly apparent when she is alone.
Lady Macbeth is feeling guilty about what she has done at this point. This plan showed that they would harm anyone to get the titles, King and Queen. It also shows that Lady Macbeth has guilt just like everyone else no matter what they are like. It proves that Macbeth would be lost without Lady
