There are many different transcendentalist characteristics. Some of the characteristics would be self reliance. In civil disobedience people are relying on themselves. People need to be more self reliant. There are to many people in the world who rely on others. These stories could teach us how and why would should rely on our selfs. Our country I feel is the worst on not having self reliance. The United States relies on a bunch of technology and cars and everything else to get us to where we need to be in life. Other countries are more self reliant than us. Nature is also another transcendentalism characteristic. Nature kinda goes with self reliance in my eyes.
