Travis Alexander and the Beautiful Killer Sitting in a cell hundreds of miles away is a woman of small stature who is considered rather good-looking by today's standards. So innocent she seems, but don’t be fooled, for she is responsible for one of the most infamous and scandalous murders of the twenty-first century, the murder of Travis Alexander. This murder was exactly what the world wanted to read about. It was a murder of passion, lust, and betrayal committed by a beautiful woman. In the same phone call the 911 operator asked if Travis had been threatened recently and the woman responded, “Yes, he has. He has an ex-girlfriend that has been bothering him. Following him and slashing tires and things like that.” (Loher 2013) This Ex-girlfriend was none other than Jodi Arias.
Travis Alexander and Jodi Arias met two years prior at a work conference in Las Vegas. During this conference, their infatuation began. Alexander, a devoted Mormon, quickly became intrigued by Jodi, and to win his favor Jodi became baptized by the Latter-day Saints church later that year. The couple then dated until they separated during the summer of 2007. The evidence at the scene, however, painted a very different picture. After searching the residence, investigators found Alexander’s new camera badly damaged in the washer. Once they recovered the images they discovered pictures of Alexander and Arias in sexually suggestive positions, and an accidental photo of a bleeding person, which were taken the night of his suspected murder. In their search, investigators were also able to find traces of both Alexander and Arias’s blood from a bloody palm print in the hall.
