Travis's Loathing In The Outsider

Through many would suggest that Travis have a profession revolving around animals from the strong connection he shared with Einstein, he could become an outstanding policeman; he has a natural, impulsive ability to collect and analyze important information and to find a clever solution to solve the problems he faces. When he first meets Einstein, he notices his small bursts of intelligence and his curiosity was piqued. After a while, figured out ways to communicate with the dog to help figure out the mysteries of his origins and those of The Outsider, so Travis uses the opportunity to interrogate him about his past: “‘I ask you a question, and you indicate the letters that are needed to spell out the answer, one letter at a time, word by word. …show more content…

He even took the care and “installed (the traps) himself.” Not only were many of the other traps offensive, but many precautions were taken for the defense of the house and an escape route. He thought through every aspect of surviving The Outsider, and were a situation this bad ever occur again in work, he would be able to do it all again. The ability to think things through and secure an area and protect people is a skill that is very valuable to police. Travis clearly displays the ability to apply knowledge into many of the tasks that may come up in a policeman’s career; Travis’ natural ability to calmly asses a situation and figure out the best solution would be invaluable to the police
