Love or Laugh?
Potions, donkeys, and tricksters are a main part of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Night Dream. This book one of the famous Shakespeare consists of a group of people putting on a play. Their rehearsal area? That's in the woods. In the woods they are falling in and out of love, and one becomes a donkey (Yike’s!). All the misfortunes happen all thanks to this trickster, Oberon, with a love potion. He gets help form his “assistant” Puck who doesn’t know the difference between people when given bad directions. Titania is the queen of the fairies and one person who gets tricked by Oberon's love potion. Titania shows how love is determined by people in different situations including how Titania falls in love with bottom (by a love potion) or the situation of Titania and Oberon. …show more content…

The child was her best friends child. She wanted the child because she was so close with his mother, so she had taken it from Oberon. Oberon and Titania would play tricks on one another. But, this trick that oberon played on his wife was cruel. As the men got together to practice, for their play Pyramus and Thisbe. One of the men Nick Bottom went to prepare for his scene. As he prepared, he walked by a water fountain and cruel Puck (Oberon's assistant) made him have the head of a donkey. When he looked in the fountain he just saw normal him, but as he went to his friends everyone ran in fear from him. Bottom thought it as a joke and sang to let them know he is not afraid. While singing he awakes titania who puck put a drop of the love potion on. She falls in love with him
