The education that I intend to take after graduating high school is one that will help me reach my ultmost full potential both academically and socially. The vast amount of research gone into trying to find what college I want to attend has been quite the stressful process. Does this college have a good undergraduate program? Is it in the middle of nowhere? Am I able to perform academically well and still have a college experience here? All of these questions and more circled in my mind.
Diverse, community orientated, and strong academics. Those were my first impression of what kind of school Tulane University is. I was gravitated to the school’s unique culture and the history behind its foundations. My interest of Tulane was ignited when a representative from Tulane University came to my school. At first, she introduced what most colleges talked about during one of the college visit sessions. It was the usual information about student to faculty ratios, the huge school pride, and the daunting admissions process. However, beyond the discussion about Tulane’s school spirit, I was amazed about the unique student body that was present at the school. This community service based community is what I am and want to become part of. I was especially amazed about how Tulane was able to come back after Hurricane Katrina. I learned from the representative that the public service has enabled students to rebuild the city and aid the people within the city to get back on their feet. Not only does the university help during difficult time but it also helps the current situations within the community. I was told that a group of marketing students used their skills to help a local business with promoting its store. It shows the genuine giving back and incorporating what the students learned to real
