In 1492, Columbus stops in Granada. There was a shift in power at the time of his arrival. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel were now the royalty of Spain and celebrating the lost reign of the Muslims. This event represents a turning point in Spain and Europe and the climax between the rise and fall of Islam in the West. The Islamic and Christian religion are “opposing forces” but it wasn’t always like that. The offensive behavior happened when Islam came and invaded Spain with its power of progression and knowledge. Christians then came in and destroyed all that the Muslims had established and burned their books and cultural valuables. Muslims had flourished for 700 years and the Christians took all that way when they dismantled their culture/ways,
