Despite my somewhat difficult personality and little quirks, I believe that Aza Holmes, the main character of "Turtles All The Way Down" by John Green, would greatly enjoy a friendship with me and I with her. Throughout the story, there were many ideas presented that prove our friendship compatibility. For instance, she is know for having OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and anxiety. Although I don't share those same mental illnesses, I believe we would get along on the fact that we both dislike germs. Towards the end of March, I was accused of copying my one friend and was then totally excluded from my so-called group of friends. I turned into an outsider and it felt as though no one liked me anymore. It was a terrible time and I felt awful. Now, in the novel it talks about how Aza’s best friend, Daisy, writes Star Wars fanfiction and one night Aza decides to read one of her friend’s many stories. That night she discovers them, she realizes that she is written into the story as one of the characters, Ayala, and Daisy was considered Rey. So, while Aza was reading, it stated, “...are accompanied by a blue-haired girl named Ayala, whom Rey describes as ‘my best friend and greatest burden’...Ayala couldn’t get anything right...Ayala was horrible.” This shows that Daisy believes her friend to be a tremendous, useless burden that she would rather not deal with even after everything they’ve been through. After reading this, Aza became truly hurt and offended by Daisy’s cruel words. This, in turn, made Aza feel betrayed by her best friend, just as I had. Again, bonding over misfortunes and/or misfortunes which allows us to shape a friendship. It also allows Aza to want to become friends due to the fact that we share certain events in
