It mentions thoughts about abandonment, betrayal, and inflicting pain on yourself to cope with someone else's pain. Some specific situations and matters are brought up such as the show Survivor, the overturn of Roe v. Wade, and the public trial of Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard. She talks about the show Survivor to express that she likes to watch this show because it allows her to actually feel, which then goes back to the point of depression. She has lots of fans between the tween ages and the millennium generation. People like that have more of a chance to be battling with mental health and to be on social media more. Because many of her audience and fans are still young, some messages in this song can help them cope and know that it's okay and that they aren’t the only ones feeling such emotions and thinking of such estranged thoughts. This cohort of an age group also follows many social platforms and knows much of what is going on. This group is the best target to help with the evolution and growth of society so that we aren’t getting worse as a community. Celebrities know that many of their fans look up to them and that they will follow much of what they say and do. Celebrities tend to be huge role models. Billie knows that if she expresses topics about mental health but also of social injustices, her fans will listen. In a way, fans can tend to be like minions. They listen to her when she expresses that it’s okay to be human. They will also listen when she mentions things wrong with the general public and media. So she wrote this song to express her thoughts and opinions, but kept in the back of her mind that others will listen and follow what she says. Logically speaking, that was an excellent idea on her behalf. The way she wrote the song sounded very sad and deep. It was a very realistic piece of text. Sad and realistic is her typical style of music, but keeping it down to earth and realistic relays the message she is trying to convey much easier.
