Firstly, let us mention the main role Uncle Tom – a devout Christian. He showed the spirit of Christian – love and tolerance – perfectly. He helped two women mill flour and read the Bible to encourage them. He gave cotton to a weak slave, even if he will be beaten by doing this. This is love. He always forgave others’ mistakes that hurt himself and read the Bible when faces the difficult. He never hated his merciless slave owners or supervisors. This is tolerance. Uncle Tom was such a generosity and kind people. However, the ending of Uncle Tom is tragic – he was killed by the slaveholder. Why? According to the Bible, Uncle Tom should not be treaty like this. However, under the slavery system, the salve owners did not consider their slaves as humans. The slaves were as same as their livestock such as cows, horses. From my perspective, we can both find the positive and negative influences from the Christian in Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Also, we just need to mention the Uncle Tom.

The positive influence of the Christian is easy to understanding – love and tolerance that have already been talk about before. To put it simply, Tom has a lot of good characteristics such as kind, generous and friendly because he believed the Christian. Hence, the love in the Christianism means the caritas. It is to every human include both Greek and Jew, both masters and slaves, both male and female and not only for good man but also for bad man. At least, every audience could know Christian is a religious that advocate the peace after read this novel.

Moreover, the negative influence of Christian is clear to find. In Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Tom did have a chance to kill his opponent, but he gave up the chance because as a Christian, he could not kill a person according to the Bible. Then, this caused the tactic ending of
