Unconditional Loyalty In 'The Kite Runner'

How far will you go to prove you unconditional loyalty? Would you travel to a dangerous place to redeem yourself from something horrible you did as a child? Is it really worth your innocence or your even your life ? The “ Kite Runner “ tells a story about an envious young boy named , Amir who longs for his father’s love and betrays his friend as well as his father’s 40 year old friendship trying to seek his father’s acceptance. Amir lived with guilt for very long from being the cause of his Mother’s death , to being a coward and letting something take place that he could’ve stopped. Hassan was Amir’s servant , but also his loyal friend who would do just about anything for him, including losing his innocence. Growing up , Amir’s father was a businessman and never had much time for him although, Rahim Khan , Baba’s good friend , helped fill that void of a father figure that Amir needed. Rahim knew everything there was to know about Amir , including his big secret. After the invasion of Russia, Amir and his father eventually came to America and started a new life . Many years later , Rahim calls Amir and says , “ There’s a way to be good again “ ( Hosseini 198 ). Amir goes to Peshawar to see Rahim .
