The music industry is a constantly changing phenomenon with new genres of music arising out of the old ones regularly. These new genres of music allow for different sounds of entertainment for artists to bring to their fans, and for those fans to enjoy the new music they’re hearing. One of the more popular music genres of this generation is hip-hop, which originated in the Bronx in New York, developed from other genres such as Jazz and Jamaican music (Mize). One way that the underground rap world has helped society is by offering their music for free on audio platforms such as SoundCloud which allows for these artists to post their music for free, which in turn allows for people that are less fortunate to listen to the music they want while being able to afford other necessities they need such as food and shelter. With all the new streaming systems such as Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, exclusive streaming is a new way for companies to make money, but now many mainstream underground rap artists such as Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Metro Boomin and many more continue to provide their music on these free streaming platforms because they believe that it is wrong to have to pay for multiple streaming platforms just to listen to certain songs. Metro Boomin even tweeted about this topic tweeting “This streaming war s**t is so sus with all the exclusivity bulls**t. Just let the kids have the music because that's what it should be about” (Garland). With Metro Boomin being a very prominent figure in the underground rap movement, this tweet sent a very powerful message about giving fans the music they
