In the following assignment, you are required to answer each of the following: 1. Explain what “proctoring” means and why the UoPeople requires proctored exams. “A proctor is an impartial individual appointed to monitor or supervise a student during their examinations. All students taking proctored exams are required to have a proctor for various reasons: 1. To guarantee proper student verification, that meets the standards of accrediting agencies. 2. To assure that the student who takes the proctored final exam is the same person that enrolled in the program. 3. To assure that the exam result is a true reflection of the student’s own knowledge”. Explain how you register your chosen proctor with the university (found in the student portal), and share an example and description of one person you might choose as a proctor. Once I register for a course with a proctored exam, I will have to click on “add a proctor” link, which is located next to the course I registered for. This link will allow me to fill in the proctor’s information. “Once this is done the proctor will receive an email from Student Services asking them to confirm their willingness to be a proctor for the student”. Moreover, I’m positive that he will avail himself for a physical appearance during my final exam, once he’s aware ahead of time.
