McDonald’s & Tesco
(P1 & M1) Techniques
In this task, I will be describing how many business or companies such as McDonald and Kellogg’s are using different types of techniques. For example, I will explain all the growth strategies within the Ansoff’s Matrix as well as the Survival Strategies, Relationship Marketing etc.
Growth Strategies
Market Development - This is when a business or company decides to expand or re-introduce a product to new users. For example, McDonald’s produces many foods and drinks and most of these can be found or originally found at USA although demands has risen over the last few years therefore McDonald’s has now gone internationally and managed to introduce their existing products such as the hamburgers etc. …show more content…

Due to the fact Tesco is the largest food retailer in the UK, they only started by selling foods, fuels and other goods etc. although, they have expanded and became more efficient and used the internet to gain more consumers, by putting up a online website where they can buy there directly and get it delivered or collect it. They also have produced the self-checkout in stores; this reduces the amount of people waiting in the queue as well as becoming more efficient and having the self-checkout will make everything faster. They have done this to gain more consumers as well as draw their attention. Meanwhile, McDonald’s has also diversified by producing a McCafe in Japan where little amount of people eat fast-food and they did this to draw more of the people’s attention to try their products/goods. McCafe has been famous in Philippines as well due to many people likes their new products, where some of the products in the McCafe are not available in the normal McDonald’s branch.
Product Development –
Product Development or New Product Development is the process of producing a new product to the market to benefit the customers. There are a lot of businesses who produces a new product every year that they introduce to their consumers such as McDonald’s and Tesco. An example would be McDonald’s offering The Big Ocean burger back in 2007, this was only offered to their consumers
