What are hero? Hero's are people that take risks. They make a difference in the world. People become a hero by helping people out. To become a hero you can save life.
Sure, I got time The Websters dictionary defines a hero as someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Heroes are ordinary people who find the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. They are the real heroes, and so are the families and friends who have stood by them. Maya Angelou stated, “I think a hero is any person really intent on making this world a better place for all people.”

If I asked you who was an american hero, who would be the first person you think of? I would automatically think of Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson is not only an american hero but also a hero for all of sports. His courage, wanting to be the first african american to play baseball, fighting for equality, and fighting for his country are all reasons he should be considered a hero.
A hero could be any person in any type of situation. If someone says “You are a hero”, or “You are my hero”, those phrases have two different meanings. Being a hero has 3 different meanings to me; first, a hero could be someone who is willing to put themselves at risk to help others, someone who is willing to sacrifice anything to help others, and finally a hero could be someone who has changed or affected your life in any positive way. First, a hero to me is someone who is willing to put themselves at risk to help others. That could be a police officer, firefighter, or anyone.
What makes a hero? A hero is someone who is willing to take a chance on something. Someone who can be strong and courageous to accomplish something. Someone who can complete a task and change a whole country. That is a hero.
A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Coretta Scott King was an activist for equal rights for people of color. She worked with her husband, Martin Luther King Jr., but she was a hero all on her own. One example of her work is that in 1957, she traveled to Ghana to mark the nations independence. I believe that a hero is someone is willing to try even when it seems impossible.
Heroes in our society are revered and respected as Joseph Campbell reminds us: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Joseph Campbell). Heroes exist in all societies and throughout history. Maybe they are not always on the news or from the movies, but their words and their actions never fail to resonate across their feats. A hero gives of himself and dedicates himself to causes which better others and their society unlike individuals who are self serving, greedy, and cruel.
Everyone is a hero at some point in there life. A hero is kind and helps others with their actions and words. Pony, Dallas, and Johnny are heroes in the book The Outsiders. They all fit my definition of a hero and maybe add a little more meaning that fits their personality. All of us are a hero but only some of us show it.
“Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.” - President Ronald Reagan, 1983. I think this quote, by Ronald Reagan, not only speaks for marines but for all veterans who have served their people and made sacrifices to protect the rights of those people. I am proud and take great pride to be living in a country protected by such courageous men and women who have served to make a positive difference in our country. When someone risks their own life for the betterment of others, it is a very noble act that requires immense bravery and courage.
There are various approaches to describing a hero. There is also an infinite number of individuals who can be defined as heroes. A hero can be a person who demonstrates valor. A hero can be a champion. A hero can even save a life or even mankind.
To me, a hero is someone who gives everything they have to assure the happiness of others and a hero is also someone who gives up his life or her life so someone else could live. In all honesty, a hero isn’t really what we think a “hero” is based on definitions and what the movies or even comic books have told us. Anyone can be
My Definition of a Hero A hero is “Any person admired for qualities or achievements and regarded as an ideal or model” (“Hero”). When someone hears the word ‘hero’, they most likely think of firefighters, police officers, or soldier. However, the person who comes to my mind when I think of a hero is my mother, Becky Harper. She goes above and beyond each day, displaying characteristics of a hero.
