On June 16, 2014 a tornado intruded through Platteville, and happened to damage the school. The tornado was an EF-2, which just happened to cause around $18.8 millions of damage to the campus. Memorial Park was damaged, as well as five other buildings, including surrounding areas as well. The heaviest damage done was done to five structures. The Bridgeway Commons had around $7.3 million worth of damage done. About $4.8 million of damage was done to Rountree Commons. Both the Southwest Hall and the Engineering Hall had $1.8 million of damage done each. Pioneer Stadium had much less damage done, but still costed around $1.7 million. University of Wisconsin Platteville has made quite a recovery since the intrusion of the tornado. The structures have been repaired, and it is hard to believe that just over a year ago a tornado ripped through campus. The University of Wisconsin Platteville community all came together to help repair the damages. Altogether the University of Wisconsin Platteville isn’t just a community, they are a
