Help, it is defined as someone making it easier for another person or something by providing resources. Helping out the world could be done in many formats, volunteer work, stopping bullying or even taking groceries to an old lady’s house and etcetera. Helping out someone is a good thing to do and should be done more. In Unwind by Neal Shusterman many people have helped Unwinds even though they know it is against the law. Sonia is a generous and unselfish old lady who helps Unwinds who stop by her store. Sonia tells Connor, “I’m going to hold this letter for you,” she tells him, “If you survive to eighteen, you must promise that you’ll come back here to get it” (Shusterman 110). By doing this Sonia is giving Connor the confidence he needs to survive. Also, Sonia is letting Connor go knowing the possibility of Connor telling the polices, if he gets caught. We must keep in mind that some people did not choose the path they need help in. Risa hears the words come out the woman's mouth, “We have to make room for every new ward. Which means cutting 5 percent of our teenage population” (Shusterman 23). Risa had to be unwound to make room. She was a good student, great musician, and she didn’t do anything wrong.
