My academic journey has been marked by an unwavering dedication to teaching. After attaining my doctoral degree in the field of Urban Studies from Cleveland State University, I embarked on a career dedicated to educating others about this area of study. My initial offerings as an educator included introductory urban studies classes and graduate-level grant writing courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Following my doctoral studies, I undertook a teaching post at John Carroll University where I was privileged to partake in their prestigious graduate nonprofit program. This opportunity formed the basis for me taking on an additional two-year role as visiting assistant professor with Cleveland State's Urban College – a position which saw myself instructing students in advanced topics such as grant writing and community development. This project combines problem based learning with technology and modern skillsets to promote student engagement. As part of this endeavor, I'm researching the properties of SOLE while consulting nationally. Additionally, John Bransford’s “How People Learn” approach is being implemented in my classroom as recommended by the National Science Foundation, capitalizing on its capability to foster interdisciplinary educational opportunities and further enriching students' experiences within their studies.
