United States Healthcare System Rebuild United States healthcare system is one of the most expensive in the world. The healthcare system in America is complex and diverse with public and private options including some of the bigger public companies, CVS Health Corp. (Customer Value Stores) and UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH) being the top two. Even after many years of the U.S. having a healthcare system, there are still many problems Americans face with the system itself. The main problems consist of mainly high pricing for healthcare services and the need for access to basic healthcare services for low-income individuals and families, including people living in rural areas farther from care. According to Donna Batten’s article “National Health Care”, between the years 1965 and 2005 healthcare costs have risen drastically due in part to average lifespans increasing. The creation of new technologies better helps the elder improve their chances of having a longer lifespan by giving them better care. As a consequence of newer technologies, hospitals have needed to raise the price of healthcare to compensate for the cost of the machines. “According to one study in 1987, the total cost of healthcare administration was an estimated $96.8 billion to $120.4 billion, accounting for 19.3 to 24.1 percent of the total spending on healthcare in the United States.” High pricing of healthcare has led to 46 million or 15 percent of the population in 2009 to not being able to afford healthcare. If the U.S. would take some tips from other countries with more improved healthcare, then the U.S. could improve the pricing for their own healthcare. One example of better healthcare prices is the United Kingdom. UK utilizes a government-sponsored Universal Healthcare System (UHS) where everyone who needs care, employed or not, gets access no matter the ability to pay for it or not. UHS is offered to every English resident who pays taxes, which is how the UHS is funded. problem with NHS is the low amount of medical professionals being attracted to NHS, causing a shortage of staff, meaning the wait times to get into any medical care would take longer than in the United
