The religion motif is developed through the Tower of Babel. The allusion to the Tower of Babel is used in F451, when the firemen are about to burn the woman’s house. In the Old Testament, the Tower of Babel is a tall building that reaches up to heaven. The tower was used as a way that people would communicate with God. God then saw what the people were trying to do. He confused the people as a way to make them confused in their own language, so they could not understand each other. He scattered everyone around the world, stopping the construction of the tower (Genesis 11:1-9). The novel is using the Tower of Babel as a way to describe the way the woman is reaching out for books, is useless since the people in books do not exist, much less agree
