USE OF INTERNET AND OUR KIDS
1. Use of internet and its advantages cannot be denied in nowadays. If most important list of present day inventions are made, internet may get the top position, but at the same time may remain in the top if most time consuming with less output activities are put together. Young age kids are most effected of menace and situation may get worsen if timely corrective measures not taken. A balance has to be strike to keep the young generation updated and at the same time protect them from being exploited by technology. Following measure are suggested.
a. Age limitation to use independent internet device. It is responsibility of the parents, schools and government to determine the age of the children up to which independent internet devices and computer/laptops/mobile are not allowed.
b. Focus on the Educational Purpos. Internet providers should be directed and instructed to those activities which support education, enrichment, and career development, with the option of limited "open access" times. The best way to promote the safe and responsible use of the Internet is to ensure that teachers are prepared to lead students on exciting, educationally-enriching learning "adventures" on the Internet. When the computers are being used for such activities, the opportunity for misuse is significantly limited
c. Clear Policy that is Well-Communicated to Students. Students should have a clear understanding of the kinds of activities that are and are not considered acceptable. Students should be aware that they have no expectation of privacy when they use the Internet at school, home and any
