In a world destroyed by a deadly virus, the United Kingdom remains one of the only stable countries. “V for Vendetta” is set in London, a land ruled by a dictator who promises security but not freedom and whose only objective is to strike fear into people's’ lives. Using lies, myths and false information the government controls the thinking of the people and uses propaganda as the number one mind-control weapon. The intended effect is to insert fear into the hearts of people and make them think that whatever the government (Norsefire) says is always right. Evey undeniably had gone through a drastic change throughout the movie, however after her transformation she becomes more intrigued by who V as a man, rather than what he stood for. Her indications of love make for a moving scene where she grabs Vs mask and kisses its lips. This significant expression of emotion further paints V simply as a man, and turns the character farther away from the representation of anarchy. In summary, “V for Vendetta” demonstrates the process of one individual intent on overthrowing a corrupt government. This fascist government was characterized by tight control, oppressive rules and religious corruption. The leader of anarchy, V, was painted as an ambiguous character showing that anyone could have played his role if they could believe in an idea, because “ideas are bulletproof.” For the purposes of entertainment, the filmmakers had to show a more humane side to V’s character, but by doing so they steered away from the center plot of the whole movie which is creating a pure embodiment of
