V for Vendetta, is a story that challenges people to step up and take responsibility for their lives and their political system. Alan Moore provokes his readers to analyze the political climate of 20th century England in order to determine their ideal society. Moore shares a narrative, which focuses on his main character “V”. Throughout the novel, we examine different versions of the V’s characters. The reader is first exposed to “V” when Moore introduces a girl named Evey. Evey is rescued from a perpetrator by “V”. However, in the process of recusing her, V killed the perpetrator--a police officer whose main purpose was to rape and kill Evey. This scenario calls into questions V’s morality. The inclusion of this visual aids is to further show his false propaganda to gain the support of many. V was likened to these villains since he was trying to push for an anarchist society the same way these dictators tried to push for a system of government they believed was ideal for their respective countries. They also represent the manner in which V went about overthrowing the previous political system to implicate his own-- similar tactics these World Two dictators used to gain power. One similarity V has as demonstrated by Ben Little in the article Constructing the Reader 's Perspective in V for Vendetta “As an anarchist, he cannot tell people what to do, merely show them the alternative. In one instance, this politics of demonstration is taken to the extreme and occupies the second main moment of ambiguity in the text”(194).
