Technology removes people's responsibilities by making everything too easy for them. In “Veldt”, Ray Bradbury makes the character’s dependent on technology that they are not able to take care of themselves and loose values that they would have learned otherwise. The characters are no longer cable of living life without the technology that they take for granted. The parents do not have any home maintenance and are no longer spending time with their children. There is a conflict and competition between people and the machine taking over. The author introduces the technology by enumerating what the automated house and nursery can do.
