In his essay “Gil’s Sportsplex”, Gil Fried states that Gil Giles is always obsessed with softball and thus, he tends to invest a sportsplex after he retired (1). Fried introduces Gil’s backgrounds that he is a former police officer without any experiences in running a sports facility (2). Elsewhere, Fried demonstrates various industry analyses about sportaplex, for example, the definition of sportsplex is a facility offering multiple indoor and outdoor sports (2), and the “Sportsplex Operators and Developers Association (SODA)” propose some guidelines for implementing a sportsplex, such as “developing a needs assessment, feasibility study and preliminary design”(2). In addition, Fried cites CT sportsplex information, which includes the location, population, the charging fees, sponsorship packages, and the competing component research, as a frame example for Gil’s sportsplex (3-4).
The NCAA men’s basketball championship is a showcase sporting event that affords institutions to the ability to showcase the talents of its athletics department, while providing fans with the opportunity to be a part of something larger than themselves. Bridgeforth was finally finished in 2011 and now the seating capacity was raised to about 25,000 people, a larger video scoreboard in the south end-zone, addition of 17 suites, and also increased stadium lighting. The total reconstruction over time estimated to about, wait for it... $90 million dollars!! So much money, but at the end of the day the stadium is beautiful and worth every
The seating bowl returned to its original seating color from 1962: yellow, light orange, turquoise, and sky blue. Additionally, box seating was added to the baseline area and the stadium bowl concrete was repaired, resurfaced and refinished. This $20 million renovation project also included the terrace picnic area that seats 500 people outside the Loge level seating entrance. In August 2007, the Dodgers announced the next phase of renovations to Dodger Stadium that widened the concourses and expanded the number of concession areas and restrooms. Before the 2008 season, renovations were completed on the field level that included two new Baseline Box Clubs.
Lonnie, Thank you for your post! As you know I branched off of the Yankee’s in my post. I do agree that if sports teams like the Yankee’s want to build a new stadium there will be cost increases i.e. ticket sales, concessions and team jerseys.

It took three years for a 2nd city to install lights in the stadium but finally Macphil brought the light to The Dodgers. Even though the Dodgers finished in 7th, they gained more fans throughout that season. “Although MacPhil had laid out hundreds of thousands of dollars for ballpark improvements, lights, and players, the Dodgers posted and operating deficit of only $11,000, a vast improvement over earlier years” (Tygiel, 104). Eight more teams would trail the success of night games in the two years following boosting attendance and interest in the
Her favorite team in the NBA would most definitely be the Washington Wizards. Her other favorite teams would have to be: for football the 49ers; and for baseball the Yankees. In the spring, Denise really gets excited about the March Madness tournament in College Basketball. She has had an amazing work experience, but rather more recently interned with the Washington Redskins Ticket Office. She enjoyed her time working there, and thought
Joel Sternfeld, an American photographer best known for capturing memorial landscapes (places where something tragic occurred). Many of his photographs capture the emotions and severity of the events that occurred in these places. Sternfeld’s 1993 image Gibson Street is a prime example of an image that captures these things. In this photograph Sternfeld captures the spot where Christopher Harris was shot in 1991, and he connects this event other issues that were happening in America at the time. Through photograph’s compositional arrangement, the apparent vacancy, and the color pallet of the image, tragedies that occur in inner cities and other places of poverty are displayed.
Pride in many ways drives a sports team 's revenue, because it speaks to the investment of fans in their hometeam. And having a place to gather, to eat good food and watch a team you love play, can directly contribute to a City 's pride in their team and furthermore, the money they are ready to spend on supporting that
A new upper concourse was added with ramps, elevators, and more restrooms. In addition, nearly 12,000 seats were added along the top of the stadium. This includes club seats and luxury suites. Also an atrium, known as “Titletown”, was built. This area includes a Packers Hall of Fame, a team store, a restaurant, and several offices and meeting rooms were also constructed (Lambeau Field).
Four years after the French Revolution began, in January 1793 a group of about eighty men assembled in Oeller’s Hotel in Philadelphia to celebrate French victory at the battle of Valmy. This assemblage speaks not only to the camaraderie between Americans and French, but also, based on who was present at the dinner, represents a wider desire for a worldwide movement toward democracy. Even the way it was reported by the local newspapers implies the importance of this modest gathering. Philadelphia, since before the inception of the Revolution, had been a hub of political creativity and debate, although this new political atmosphere, one in which the mob’s opinion was particularly made known, was not entirely appreciated by the higher classes.
Although Wong Kar-wai experiments with numerous elements of film in Chungking Express, one of the most notable aspects of the movie relates to sound. Using both diegetic and non-diegetic sound cleverly throughout the film, Wong creates an atmosphere in which his audience is able to form a connection with his four central characters. He commences what could be considered the first act of the film with dramatic instrumentals, introducing Michael Galasso’s “Baroque” as it is juxtaposed with chase scenes enveloped in the night and illuminated only by few vibrant colored signs of shops. The same instrumental song appears several times more, restricted to only the first act of the film and only establishing its presence during similarly action-oriented

The 17.5 ton Sony Jumbo tron broke from the top of the stadium roof in left field crashing into the upper deck and destroying 800 seats. Leaving The Anaheim Stadium with one tenant.
