Slenderman Stabbing Today I will be talking about the Slenderman stabbing. This happened in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Saturday, May 31, 2014. When two girls lured their best friend into the woods and stabbed her 19 times to impress Slenderman, a fictional supernatural character that resembles a tall, faceless man wearing a black suit. The victim was Payton Leutner and the other two girls were Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier.
To summarize this article, Tawana Brawley was an innocent 15-year-old girl that viciously been gang raped by six man one described as a cop. Her fragile body was found smeared with manure. Tawana later became a symbol, representing the unequal Justice for African Americans. Her story received many attention and was given lifelong donations that would benefit her in the future, but justice was never fought for this blameless girl. Nevertheless, When Rev. Al Sharpton, Alton Maddox Jr., and C. Vernon Mason took on her case that would be the beginning of the end to finding justice for Tawana.
Tom Stanley took part in the battle of hill 60, which was the last major Assault of the entire Gallipoli campaign. The assault started on the 21st of August 1915, and was planned to take place at the same time as another assault on Scimitar Hill, where the British were planning to take it. It was estimated that if both assaults were successful, it would secure the linkage of the Anzac and British forces that would range for about 2 miles. In total, 2 major assaults were made on the Hill by Allied forces. The the first assault was mostly unsuccessful and only made minimal progress towards capture, and the Turkish forces held firm, even after a second Australian battalion came to support a day later.
In the story “Our Guys: The Glen Ridge Rape and the Secret Life of the Perfect Suburbs” by Bernard Lefkowitz describes the events of Leslie a mentally ill woman that was raped by the treasured group of high school athletes in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. The gang rape occurred on March 1, 1989. Leslie left her house in the afternoon to go play basketball in the park. When she arrived at the park, many of the school 's athletes were there, either watching or taking part of baseball practice. One of the boys Chris Archer approached her and asked her to come down to a basement of a nearby house for a party.
Most people expect others to crumble under the weight of a situation that seems impossible to get out of. Yet, Angel did not allow the abuse and molesting Jordan did to her bring her down. The quote, “The more things change, the more they stay the same” can apply to many controversial topics, especially to the case of Emmett Till. In this case, two white men mercilessly tortured and murdered a young African American, Emmett Till. The result of this case ended up letting the two murderers free without any charges. Many people have found this as an act of injustice. According to Lester Banks,”The world will regard America’s sense of justice as a hollow mockery if the white men who brutally lynched young Emmett Till in Mississippi are not punished”(PBS).
According to the Declaration of Independence signed on July 4,1776 “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” The Declaration of Independence says that all men are equal; all men are equal means that every man’s life has the same value. Police brutality has been an ongoing problem since the beginning of time. The conflict of the police versus the people has become a mass media problem as well as a personal problem. Back 1992, Rodney Glen King was the first African American to go viral for being the first victim of police brutality.
Moral Ambiguity and History within The Assault Harry Mulisch’s The Assault is a self-proclaimed “story of an incident” (3) wherein “the rest [of the events are] a postscript” (55). The incident in question is the murder of Anton Steenwijk’s parents, and the postscript refers to the future, where Anton uncovers details relating to the incident. Despite Mulisch’s definitive distinction between events, however, the incident itself is convoluted and its details shift over the span of the work. Through the development of major and supporting characters, Mulisch brings forth a diverse range of perspectives and reconstructs the history of the incident, thereby exploring the motif of moral ambiguity within The Assault.
The Justice system has shown a pattern of taking the side of law enforcement. As of today, police brutality, specifically excessive force still remains as one of the most serious human rights violations. From the severe beatings, to the unjustified shootings, and inexcusable aggressive rough treatment all contribute to police officer misconduct. Many officers need to be opened minded about the way they address victims, suspects, and criminals. Yes, they have the upper power, but in any situation everyone is a human being and should be treated as such; the majority of this unacceptable behavior goes unnoticed or unreported.

The victim impact statement is a written statement which is verbally communicated in the court room. It is optional the victim is not under any obligation to produce a Victim impact statement. Primary victims are not the only ones who can provide statements, friends or family can act on behalf of them. Victim Impact Statements involve explaining how the crime physically impacted on the victim, any injuries that have come from the crime, long term and short term injuries.

The pathologist found hemorrhaging on the top of the skull, which was assumed to be from being tossed around in the trunk of Joubert’s car. Routinely, they’re scared to feel the stinging sensation on their cheek, or scared to hear the harsh words spit out of someone’s mouth, or even be forced to do something that they don’t want to do. Women, children and even some men are held prisoners to someone they thought they loved.
Mary Ann Pesce (18) and Anita Luchessa (18) were stabbed to death. Just over 4 months later, September 14, 1972, Ed picked up and killed his third victim, Aiko Koo (15) by strangulation. It would be another 4 months before Ed would kill again. Now 25 years old, Ed picked up and shot 19-year-old Cindy Schallner near Cabrillo College in California. There was a short time between Cindy and the next two victims, Rosalind Thorpe (24) and Alice Liu (23).
Sexual violence can affect anyone. There is no end all be all strategy to avoid any and all sexual violence. However, studies have shown that some people are more likely to be affected by sexual violence than others. Typically, the people most likely to be at risk of sexual violence are people who are disenfranchised, in prison where a whole different cultural dynamic exists and people who can’t care for themselves. Just a few of these groups are Native American women, male prisoners, and children.
