Mary Shelley, born Mary Wollstonecraft on August 30, 1797 in Somers Town London, died on February 1, 1851 from brain cancer, was the daughter of a famous philosopher as well as political writer at the time. Mary’s mother died shortly after her birth. She admired her father. Her step-mom saw no need to educate Mary, but educated her sister instead. Mary was often found reading by her mother’s grave. “Mounseer Nongtongpaw” was Mary’s first published poem. Her father, William Godwin helped Mary publish this poem through his company in 1807. In 1812, Mary went to Scotland. In 1814, Mary became in a relationship with a devoted students of her father's named Percy. At the time, Percy was currently married to his first wife. When the monster came to life, he actually frightened Victor. Reading the story might be hard to tell who is the real monster at first, but you will finally see that Victor was the real monster. He created this creature without the essentials of life. Without love and companionship, as well as a role model, it can be very difficult to raise yourself into good instead of evil. The monster didn’t have any of those which are reasons why he was considered to be evil, but if he had those essentials of life, could he have been good? He would have been a very good monster. All he ever wanted in life was the feeling of love, but Victor would not give that to him. “No man chooses evil because it is evil; he only mistakes it for happiness, the good he seeks.” The monster didn’t choose to be evil, the felt like his actions were right. He was trying to fight for attention, companionship, and love but all in a wrong unknowingly way. A role model, had there been one in his life, would have leaded him in a different direction than the path he took. “If I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear!” Causing fear is exactly what the monster did.
