World War Video Games In Steven Johnson ’s essay “Games” (2005), he constructs his argument by saying that playing video games is no better or worse than reading, it is simply exercising different skills. What kept my interest in this short essay was the fresh take on the subject on how video games effect young adults. He addresses the audience knowing they will agree with his contrast of the two subjects or take it to be completely true. His explanation of it allows him to reach even the biased of readers to accept the rest of his argument.

Are video-games a sport? In recent years a pressing topic that has surfaced, especially among parents to children involved in such activities. I am of the belief that they are as real of a sport as football and hockey and that professional gamers should for all intents and purposes be considered athletes. And I write this in hopes of convincing even the most stubborn of reader that video games are, in fact, a sport.
Kids these days will stare at a screen on average about 10 hours a day. All of America will check their calls, emails, and their games 8 billion times a day on record. Video games are these peoples life because they don’t know how to really communicate. Teenagers will spend all of their time in front of a video game talking to other people through the game but not in real life because they are scarred. Although not all people worry about their video games as much as other things, we still need to stop the use of video games in this world because it would make communication better and we would have more time to be outside enjoying life instead of being in front of a screen.

Researches also highlighted that excessive use of video, computer and Wii games have detrimental effects on the health of children (RSK, 2014). However, Wii and Xbox games keep children pretty much in action but there are a lot of games which keep the children sitting for hours with poor posture. Many such issues have caused severe back problems in children and thus, several researches concluded that playing too much video games and spending half or more of the day in front of video games and screens causes psychological problems along with physical problems in children.

These effects could endanger the future of adolescence as they’re still part of the growth and development stage. The addictiveness of video games could further increase these negative benefits. Playing video games supports teenagers to do crimes as they are rewarded for doing so. For example, in Grand Theft Auto or GTA, the player is awarded for doing missions, missions which instructs the player to steal, to drive recklessly, to fight, to shoot and to kill.
Bad Effects of Violent Video Games: Most of the bad effects of video games because of their violence they contain. Thus children who play more violent and dangerous video games are more likely to have increased of aggressive thoughts, behavior, feelings and decreased in prosocial helping. The effect of violence video games in children is worsened by the games’ interactive nature. For the repeated cases of violence in video games, the child is in control of the violence and experiences in his own eye by killing, kicking, stabbing and shooting in games. Too much playing of violent video game will make the kid socially isolated.

As we know not all video games contain violent contents, but most of them are violent and mentally dangerous.
