The Vietnam War was fought between the communist North Vietnam and the Democratic South. The North had the support of many communist nations, including Russia, China and North Korea. The South was supported by the USA, South Korea and a wide array of Oceanian countries. The war was originally fought to prevent the spread of communism into South Eastern Asia but a few short years after it began, many soldiers forgot what they were fighting for and were only continued to fight because they were ordered to.
