U.S. political and military complications in Iraq have stimulated comparisons to the American war in Vietnam. Describing measures in Iraq have caused some spectators to make similarities to the American involvement in the Vietnam War. There are many motives why most Americans consider that Iraq is seemly the new Vietnam, with U.S. troops getting stood downed in a blood-stained war. There are fair ways to compare and contrast the Vietnam and Iraq war. Numerous people have observed Vietnam as an entirely different war from the one in Iraq.
The United States has again fallen into a different predicament from which there is no free withdrawal. History looks to be repeating itself when again, we are steered by a collection of men who launch wars …show more content…

Emotional wounds inflicted upon them by unthinking citizens who blamed them for our elected politicians' wrong war. Furthermore, in Vietnam, the U.S. paid a war that, over a period, became hugely unpopular with Americans at home. In Vietnam, many soldiers fought reluctantly with many Americans drafted for war. Thousands of soldiers, who ended up drafted, served honorably in the Vietnam battle and to their families fellow countryman. Thousands of these men died in Vietnam, and if they were not that lucky, they returned home physically challenged or emotionally scarred forever. Between 1964 and 1973, over 1.8 million soldiers were drafted into military service. Now in Iraq, there is dwindling support at home. However, President Bush retained substantial credibility through his endorsements that President Obama would eventually work with on the same matter. The U.S. forces are better trained and experienced, with a new generation of advanced weaponry and equipment.The thing U.S. troops are more appreciated by and hold true to their core is the American people that make up this great country. America's service personnel found our strengths in the unfailing support of family, friends and the nation we serve. Even though we see some similarities, there are a few differences
