Human beings rely on the power of storytelling to maintain hope, this hope allows them to continue to believe that one day, they’ll be able to achieve their dreams. Sherman Alexie explores the idea of hope and dreams by reminiscing about the heroes of the reservation. In “The Only Traffic Signal on the Reservation Doesn’t Flash Red Anymore” by Sherman Alexie, Alexie demonstrates the hope the characters have by sharing their memories of the heroes they’ve lost, as well as discussing their hope that they have that the younger heroes will do what no one else has and make it all the way, achieving their dreams. Victor and Adrian share their stories of reservation heroes, hopeful that Julius Windmaker will make it all the way.
Drivers do not even have time to see actual images while they past by, just by a color are they able to identify objects. Along with this, assimilation is key in the eye’s of the government, a person driving too slow is in a sense challenging their authority, and is punished for this. This entire fast pace relates back to each person’s need to be faster than his or her neighbor. Everyone in this society is trying to do everything in their power to win the ultimate race, but this race to live the most fun life results in many senseless injuries and deaths. These injuries and deaths are not viewed as problematic in this society, which shows how little they value anything, human life specifically.
When reading the novel, The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, I did not expect for something as simple as the green light to have such a huge effect and importance to the plot. This light having a big effect on one of the main characters really grabs the reader’s attention and makes us want to find out more and question it all. Fitzgerald uses the symbolism of the green light in order to praise those who maintain hope, humanity, and progress within a corrupt society. The notable green light is first come across in chapter one where Nick Carraway, the narrator, encounters Jay Gatsby and “didn’t call to him, for he gave a sudden intimation that he was content to be alone- he stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way, and, far as I was from him, I could have sworn he was trembling.
I believe that a majority of people would agree that if there is nobody else around and I have the opportunity to get to the hospital faster by running red lights that I would be justified in doing so. If someone is dying in an ambulance, the ambulance would not have to stop at any red lights. This is because the person being transported to the hospital could potentially die every second they don’t receive treatment from professionals.
In Albuquerque New Mexico, there was a fatal shooting due to road rage ended up killing a four year girl Lilly Garcia. The father was driving a red pickup and he had just picked up Lilly and her seven year old brother from school. When two cars cutoff each other and one of the cars was the red pickup. I believe in speed limits and that everyone should follow them not only keep themselves safe but people on the road safe as well. I know for a fact that in Fiji the most deaths on the roads are from speeding accidents that could have been avoidable if people just followed the law and didn’t speed. People forget and don’t realize a lot of the time how their actions can affect everyone else on the road not only themselves. When a person is speeding they give themselves less time to react if something were to happen.
Even though street racing is dangerous, street racing should be legal, less deaths would occur when on a designated road while fewer people would be scared to drive in the city. Introduction I and my colleagues have created a traffic light simulation circuit. There for, the circuit illustrates how traffic light is made and the reason of it, it is obvious that, there are a lot of types of traffic lights in the roads, like, traffic lights that are made for 4 streets, 3 streets and others. But the circuit that I and my colleagues decided to do is for only one-way traffic light. In my opinion, our project is pretty important because, traffic light will organize the road movement and won’t cause a lot of traffic on the roads. Method I and my colleague have been working to design the traffic simulation circuit.
