Brides is a magazine especially designed for women getting married. It is edited by Millie Martini Brown. “Brides” reaches an audience of wealthy women around ages 25-30 getting married. It appeals to the upper class with its elegant advertisements for wedding dresses, rings, makeup and bridesmaid accessories. The articles include how to plan the perfect wedding, the top locations to hold a wedding ceremony and advice on how to make this special day the best it could possibly be. This advertisement is very effective at drawing in the attention of middle-aged women looking to get married. There is also red writing on the slogan below the box that matches the color of the box. “True love has a color and a name” gives a sense of romance and passion bring forth the thought of love, that is perfect for a wedding. The gold inside the box, and also lining the box relates to wealth and prosperity as well as magic. The gold also in turn relates to the feeling of a classy and wealthy wedding, which most women dream of. In focus are the actual rings which are inside the box. The rings have incredible detail and are perfectly round, silver, and shiny. This makes them far more appealing than if they were just normal rings. The individual crystals are also shown one by one which gives more of a quality to them. Out of focus in the background is a view of the Eiffel Tower in the background, and buildings of a town. It can be assumed that the featured town is Paris due to the Eiffel Tower being present. Paris is known as the City Of Love which is convenient for this advertisement since wedding rings are the main focus. When seeing the Eiffel Tower people automatically think of love and romance. The feelings of love and romance is magnified by the colors of the sunset surrounding the view, which are light orange, pink, and blues. All of these colors are associated with happiness, gentleness, and compassion. They all give a sense of bliss when seen which amplifies the feeling of love and romance.
