Process of vitamin D deficiency treatment
Vitamin D is not a true vitamin, as individuals with adequate exposure to sunlight do not require dietary supplementation. Vitamin D is present in our bodies in two forms Cholecalciferol and ergosterol.
Vitamin D3, cholecalciferol is generated in the skin of animals when light energy is absorbed by a precursor molecule 7-dehydrocholesterol. It does not have significant biological activity until it should be metabolized within the body to the active form of the hormone called 1, 25-dihydroxycholecalciferol in both the liver and Kidney.
Therefore, it is the best and smart way to get it with the aid of the sunshine as our bodies produce it in quantities as we need, so it does not make excess levels that may cause harm.

Enough exposure to the sunlight is the most source available and the most one safe if intense ultraviolet is avoided as the body produce vitamin D as it needs. For ones who lives in areas where there is no enough sunlight to produce vitamin D or who have problems towards ultraviolet rays as in skin disorder and skin cancers. Dietary sources of vitamin D as egg yolks, fish oils and vegetables. Vitamin D supplements should be taken for those have risk to vitamin D deficiency as in pregnant women and infants. It can be taken in the form of tablets, syrups and injections. All of these measure are considered to be taken to maintain the normal serum level of vitamin D to protect the body from the risk of having problems of vitamin D
