Think of a time where you had a dream or a thought about having superpowers or being able to become a superhero, did you think about the ways you could use those powers to your life, or the possible outcomes you would be able to achieve with the extraordinary abilities you imagine of having? In the Short story called "Volar" which means to fly in spanish the author chooses to introduce a transformation and realization in the text which impacted the theme in the story, Imagination and thoughts are a way of coping through difficult times, the narrator transforms in a dream/imagination and mother realizes a conflict, in which they both wish they were able to fly, the author uses a literary device, Imagery and metaphor to show both character transformation and realization. …show more content…

In the story "Volar" It was shown as the author uses the literary device imagery to show the narrator's transformation which impacted the theme Imaginations and thoughts can be used as a coping mechanism, in the text as the narrator loves comics maining about a character called supergirl, it was portrayed as the narrator had a dream as it was said by the narrator " would fill out: my legs would grow long and my arms would harden into steel of course i would add the bonus of breasts, but not too large; supergirl had to be aerodynamic" also saying " i could see everything even beyond the few blows of our barrio with my X-ray vision i could look inside the homes of people who interested me" this shows how the narrator transforms into a extraordinary character, as she dreams about, this means that the narrator transforms into her dream as a way of coping as she wish she was about to
