In the novel Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech the main character Sal is changed by both internal and external forces.

An internal force that changes Sal is on page 35 when Sal states “ One day about two weeks after she had left, I was standing against the fence watching a newborn calf wobble on its thin legs. It tripped and wobbled and swung its big head in my direction and gave me a sweet look ‘Oh!’ I thought I am happy at this very moment in time.”’ And another quote on the same page that Sal states that “ I said to myself, ‘ Salamanca tree Hiddle you can be happy without her.’ It seemed a mean thought and i was sorry for it, but it Felt true. These two quote are very important to the story because if Sal never learned how to feel after her mother lest she would have never felt bad about Phoebe's mother leaving her and how Mrs.Cadavers husband died. To support this is example is the quote on page 253 that states “ The sheriff parked the car and led me up the path toward the river, and there, on a little hill overlooking the river and valley was my mother's grave.” This is a very important internal force that changes Sal because this is the point in the story when Sal finally realizes that her mother is actually died. Like who would not be changed by finding out that your mother the one who brought you into the world is dead. Also imagine if you were Sal ok imagine if you were told by the person who sat next to your mom on her death bus that she was dead then to go on this crazy trip just to find out that it's true that your mom is dead. I don't know about you but that would crush me, so just think how Sal was feeling and how much this changed her mindset of having her mother in her life again.

In conclusion I say that Sal definitely has some internal and external forces that change her in the novel Walk Two Moons by Sharon
