Ever wondered who Walt Whitman is? Well, he was the definition of a the most talented poetry man! He changed the United States history by writing poems and literature. One of the most important and true quote that he said was “But death is part of the human condition, and there is no shortage of literature about death and dying.” Walt Whitman is talking about death, how short it can be and that it will always come because its part of the humans body. Walt Whitman was born May 31, 1819, in the village of West Hills, Long Island, New York, approximately 50 miles east of New York City. He was the second of eight children. His father was of english descent and mother’s family were Dutch. Later on in life their family moved to Brooklyn when he was 2 years old. After attending school in Brooklyn he began working in age 11. He had a lot of jobs from his childhood to teen. He taught himself how make the magazines and newspapers. Later in the year he began working on them and creating them for New York. He had to overcome stress, and a lot of writings. Walt Whitman wrote a lot of popular magazines and newspapers which indeed inspired people. In addition in 1840s he became the editor of Brooklyn Daily Eagle but eventually he got fired. However he did not give up and kept writing newspapers but the main focus for him was poetry. 8 years later he published his 1st book with 12 poems that were not titled. “Leaves Of Grass” has inspired many people to read it. Whitman produces 800 copies of his 1st edition and then posted the 2nd edition which had 20 more poems. Whitman was not only a poet. He was a man with a kind heart. For instance in the civil war he helped out the wounded soldiers in the hospital instead of writing more poems. Furthermore he read his poems to them to even get more popular and
