A cult is a system of religious belief and devotion directed towards a particular object. The Branch davidians are a group of people that is devoted to one particular person and Religion. David Koresh is the main leader of the group and is located in Waco Texas. In the documentary Waco The Inside Story the police went to talk to the group due to safety issues regarding the children. The members of the cults remain obedient to the leader of the cult and do anything that is demanded of them by their leader. The Manson Family was a cult ran by the infamous Charles Manson. Throughout High Noon Religion is present with the sounds of the church bells ringing as the three men part of Frank Millers crew ride into town. The church choir is heard throughout almost the whole movie. Also while the three men ride through town a woman makes the sign of the cross as the men pass her (High Noon, 1952). This opening scene can be interpreted as God being needed and called upon because of the presence of something that is evil and extra help will be needed. Paul Anderson makes superb use of his famous ‘two shot’ throughout the film ‘There Will Be Blood’. Viewers can see manipulation of religion and entrepreneurship through Eli Sunday and Daniel Plainview. Readers can decipher the distinct qualities between Eli and Daniel, but can also examine the comparable attributes both possess.
