Throughout history our presidents have tried and will try to pave a path for America to not only become a good nation but a great one, but this will also cause a great amount of issues to arise for this nation. If these issues are not dealt in an adequate manner, many people will be affected in a negative way. Andrew Jackson was a powerful president who despised Indians to the point where he forced them out of their own homes. Jackson not only made the Cherokees march 2,200 miles to the west, but he also did not provide transportation, aid, or basic supplies which is extremely inhumane to do (pbs.org). His decisions have been disputed for many years, yet the reason his decisions were disputed are the same. Were his actions justified or not? Despite the controversy of this question, his drastic actions were taken too far making them unjustified. Andrew Jackson was well known for the removal of Indians from eastern lands during 1838 and 1839 which is known as the Indian Removal Act. The reasoning behind this was simple, white settlers wanted the Indians land for farming. The Indian tribe that was forced to march were called the Cherokee.
